Glossary

 
Access right An access right is granted to a content or a container. It defines readers, writers, or administrators which are individual users or groups of users.
Administrators Administrators of a group have the right to change the name of a group and to add, invite, change or exclude members.
Blog A blog is a reverse chronological list of blog posts. It can be subscribed to by an RSS feed. It can also have a hierarchy of blog pages that provide background information accessible from every page of the blog. A personal blog is a blog with a single writer. A team blog has more than one writer.
Blog post A blog post has a title and a rich text content. A blog post can have multiple comments written by readers of the blog.
Blog page A blog page provides background information on the blog. It is not mixed with the chronological list of blog posts.
Breadcrumb navigation A breadcrumb navigation allows a user to identify the logical position of the currently displayed content on the server. It consists of a list of parent content items.
Container A container holds a collection of similar and related content items. Examples for container are wikis, blogs and directories. Access rights defined at the level of containers are added automatically to the access rights defined for their content items.
Content A content is an individually identifiable piece of digital information managed by Tricia. Examples for content are wiki pages, blog posts, comments,  files or user profiles. A content can be identified by an internal link. The URL for the link contains
Comment A comment is attached to a content
Directory A directory is a container for files and directories. Directories can be nested.. The root  directory "/" cannot be deleted or renamed. A directory has a unique name within its parent directory.
External Link An external link is a URL that does not reference a content or a service within a given Tricia site.
File A file has a unique name within its parent directory. ##mounting of files.

Group A group is identified by a name and has a set of members. If an access right is granted to a group, it is valid for all users with a group membership with status active.
Home page Each wiki has a home page. The home page of a wiki is displayed when the URL of the wiki is used without further qualifikation.
Home wiki Each Tricia site has a home wiki. The home page of the home wiki is displayed when the URL of the site is used without further qualification.
Internal link An internal link is a URL that is local to a Tricia site. It can reference a content, a container or a service. Other links are called  broken internal links. Tricia detects and highlights broken internal links.Internal links can be permalinks, i.e. they do not change over time, and they can be assigned in a human-readable way.
Link A link is a URL. It is either an external or an internal link.
Group membership A group membership describes the status of of a person relative to a group (active, applies for, invited) and a public comment that can be used to explain the reason for this membership or the role of the member in the group. A user can be member of arbitrary many groups at once.
User profile A user profile stores the display name of a registered user and an e-mail. The e-mail and a secret password are used to login. After login, the user profile provides all access rights as defined by the group memberships associated with this profile.
Readers Readers are a set of users and groups that are permitted to read a particular  content.
Rich text editor A rich text editor allows to mix text, tables, multimedia elements and links.

Style A style defines the layout and visual elements elements for a set of services. Tricia provides multiple site styles, wiki styles, and blog styles which can also be expanded by authorized users with web design skills.

Writers Writers are a set of users and groups that are permitted to create, edit or delete a particular  content.
