Creating a new blog

  1. Click Blogs to show the overview of all blogs.
  2. If you are authorised to create new blogs, the action Get your own Blog is shown in the action bar at the top right edge.
  3. Click Get your own Blog.
  4. The window Create New Blog opens.
  5. Select a name for the blog. The blogs on a server must have different names.
  6. Optionally, you can assign tags for the blog to help find the blog faster.
  7. Optionally, you can enter a description for the blog, which explains, for example, the content or subjects to the readers.
  8. By default, you yourself are the sole editor of the blog and the blog can be read by every Internet user without logging in (Everybody).
  9. You can define other editors and other readers for the blog (persons or groups). (see Managing rights)
  10. The editors and readers of the blog automatically become editors and readers for newly created blog posts and blog pages. However, editors can define different readers and additional editors for each blog page later on.
  11. You can also delete yourself from the list of editors if, for example, you want to create a blog for someone else.
  12. You can select a theme (visual appearance) for the blog. In particular, it defines the style of the menu for the blog.
  13. You can define whether or not comments for the blog posts and blog pages in the blog are shown by default.
  14. You can define whether a menu with blog posts is to be shown.
  15. Finish input by clicking Save, or cancel your inputs by clicking Cancel.
