Folder and Files

With Tricia you can manage the hierarchy of folders and files.

  • You can save a hypertext with descriptive information (meta data) for each file.
  • You can link folders and files (e.g. from wiki pages or from descriptions of other files). These links are automatically updated when you rename or move files or folders.
  • You can find files by their content, their names, their storage location (folder name) and tags.
  • For each file and each folder, the modification date and the name of the last editor is saved.
  • Overwritten or edited files are automatically saved in the space Deleted and, if necessary, can be restored from there.
  • You can also change all files and folders using FTP and SFTP (see Managing files using FTP and SFTP) and map as network drive.

If you upload files and images as an attachment to wiki pages or blogs, these are stored in a special part of the folder hierarchy:

file/attachments/blogs
file/attachments/wikis

Editor rights for files and folders

  • For each folder, you can grant editor rights to individual persons or groups of persons.  (See Managing rights)
  • The editor rights apply to all files and newly created folders contained in the folder itself.

Read rights for files and folders

  • All editors of a folder and a file can also read them.
  • For each folder, you can grant read rights to additional persons or groups of persons. (See Managing rights)
  • The read rights apply to all files and folders newly created in the folder itself.
  • For each file you can define the read right differently (more liberal or more restrictive)
  • The editor right for a file cannot be defined differently. To do so, you must move the file to a different folder.
