FTP is an established industry standard protocol to upload and download files between computers of any type (Windows, MacOS, Linux, Unix, Mainframe,Mobile Devices, ...).
If you want to access Tricia files and directories from other computers and applications, you may use FTP.
With FTP you use the same login and password you use in the web interface and you have the very same access privileges.
During login, the FTP password is sent non-encrypted. It is therefore advisable to protect an FTP connection with a VPN connection.
You can use any web browser to download and upload individual files managed by Tricia.
If you work a lot with files, it is more convenient to access Tricia using a Windows file share.
