User interface
Each page shown in the browser has the same layout and the same control elements, which are described in the following.
Page header
On the left you see the server logo.
- Click the logo to go directly back to the server home page.
In the middle you see the input field for quick search.
- Type in search terms separated by spaces.
- As you type, a (drop-down) list with the most relevant matches appears.
- Click a match in the list to open the content item.
- Select a match in the list using the UP or DOWN arrows on the keyboard and press the RETURN key to open the selected content item.
- When you finish entering the search terms press the RETURN key or click the magnifying glass icon to display a list of all the server content found in a separate results page, and to then further narrow down the search step-by-step.
- Select the last entry shown in the list to create a new wiki page.

Tip: You can also click the magnifying glass icon without entering any search terms to display all server content visible to you.
On the right you see either the Login area or the meta navigation.
Login area
You only see the input fields and control elements of the login area if you are not signed in.
- Read the instructions on logging in Logging in and Registering for how to use the Login area.
Meta navigation
You only see the control elements of the meta navigation if you are signed in.
- Click Wikis, Files, Blogs, Groups to go to overview pages for the relevant content.
- Click Groups or the search icon beside the search input field to go to other users' accounts.
- Click Deleted to go to the list of recently deleted server content.
- Click Site to administer the server. This item is only visible to administrators.
- Click your name to go to your personal account.
- Click Logout to log off the server.
Menu
While the page header has the same layout for all pages, the menu can vary depending on the blog or wiki displayed (in terms of content and layout), or may be completely absent.
Only menu items relating to elements for which you have the necessary read or write rights are shown in the menu.
- Click the menu title you want and then click the menu item you want.
Tip: You yourself can select not only the menu items, but also the menu title itself or a menu item that has other submenu items. These pages often contain useful overview information.
Message area
Between the menu and the navigation path, confirmation messages (green) and error messages (red) are shown if and when they arise.
Navigation path
The navigation path (breadcrumb navigation) indicates the user's current location on the server. It shows the path taken from the server home page to the page currently displayed.
- Click the blue Home icon to go to the server home page.
- Click a hyperlink in the navigation path to go to that page in the hierarchy.
Tabs for views
Many content items have different predefined views; you can switch from one to another by clicking the relevant tab.
Only tabs for views for which you have the necessary rights are shown.
Tip: You can set bookmarks in the browser or hyperlinks in Tricia to a specific view instead of the usual default view.
Action bar
On the right margin beside the tabs you see actions, which you can perform on the content currently displayed.
- Click an action to perform it on the content currently displayed.
Only actions for which you have the necessary (write) rights are shown.
Version information
The version information on the right beside the action bar indicates who edited the displayed content last, and when.
- Click the name of the last editor to display that user's profile (account).
If the user is not signed in, the name of the last editor is only shown if the editor has ticked the account option Publicly visible.
Help icon
On the right beside the version information on the right margin you see a blue Help icon.
- Click the blue Help icon to open the Online Help in a new window.
Online Help is displayed direct from the server of infoAsset AG. This means you always have access to the latest version of Online Help. Online Help is available in several languages. Your system administrator has defined which language variant of Help opens by default. You can switch from one language variant to another.
Page content
The actual page content varies from page to page.
Page footer
- Click Powered by Tricia to get more information about Tricia software.
- Click Help to get help on Tricia software.
- Click Feedback to send information in relation to the currently displayed page direct to the developers of Tricia (error messages, comments, suggestions on how to improve the software).
On the far right you see the software release number. For example, Release 3.0.1_ec51cc_08a738 means that you are currently using Version 3.01 of the software, which can be uniquely identified by the number ec51cc_08a738.
Changing the page layout
- A wiki page editor can show and hide individual elements of the page content (e.g. titles, tags, comments)
- A wiki or blog editor can choose from different predefined themes for the wiki or blog. A theme defines the layout and the appearance of the variable header area and of the page content for all wiki pages or blog pages. (see )
- A system administrator can change the logo and the background of the fixed page header area. (see
Web developers can use templates to significantly change the page layout in order to adapt the software to the company’s Web design rules. However, the logical page layout remains the same. Contact your system administrator for further information.
