Using hyperlinks

Hyperlinks in texts and as property values are automatically updated when the link destination is renamed or deleted.

Hyperlinks as property values

  • The section Changing properties explains how to insert a hyperlink to a content item (destination) as a property E of a content item (source).
  • This is indicated (“E” of source) when the destination is displayed.
  • If you change the destination, the text of the hyperlink in E in the source is automatically changed.
  • If you delete the destination, the hyperlink in E in the source is automatically deleted.

Hyperlinks in texts

  • The section  Editing Text  explains how to insert a hyperlink to a content item (destination) into a text of a content item (source).
  • This is indicated (Referenced by source) in the destination.
  • The underlined text, which links to the destination, can be different from the name of the destination.
  • If you change the destination, the text of the hyperlink in the source is therefore not automatically changed.
  • If you delete the destination, the hyperlink in source is not deleted but marked illegal (highlighted red).
  • You can use the option Contains Invalid Links in Search to find such invalid links and reformulate the text so that it makes sense.
